In order to file for personal bankruptcy protection in Minnesota you need to make sure you consult with a local bankruptcy lawyer to make sure you take all the right steps.  Most of our clients want to know what are the pros and cons of filing for bankruptcy.  In many cases we can give you all the advantages and disadvantages of filing for bankruptcy with a 30 minute consultation.  Filing for bankruptcy is not the best option for everybody, in some cases clients also need to look at debt settlement or a loan workout.  The primary advantage of bankruptcy is it allows a person to get rid of most of their unsecured debt.  A chapter 7 bankruptcy does not get rid of all debt some examples are some tax debt, and student loan debt.
