11 Jun Creditor Harassment in Minnesota and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If you are being harassed and abused by debt collectors or collection lawyers, then you need to learn about your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). You may be able to turn the tables on the debt collectors and sue them to recover damages under the FDCPA. The debt collectors cannot call you at work after you have requested they stop. Contact you before 8am or after 9pm. Cannot threaten suit, if they do not intend to threaten suit, and cannot send letters that would confuse the least sophisticated consumer.
If you are being called night and day, and sent letters constantly. You need to give our law office a call to see if we can stop the harassment. We also provide bankruptcy services, that may be another way to stop the creditor harassment.
