A survey recently found that home ownership has dropped to 65% in the United States. It also shows that housing prices have dropped around 32% from the peak of the market. This seems to be true across most of the county, although some areas have weathered the housing crises better than others. In markets that did not see the huge run up in prices, they have not seen the large drop in prices. What this means is that more people have chosen to rent, or cannot get financing for housing.
